Rolls-Royce confirmed at the Dubai Air Show that it has entered into a Strategic Framework Agreement with Mubadala Aerospace, Communications Technology and Defense Services (ACTDS) to establish the Emirate of Abu Dhabi as a key member of Rolls-Royce’s global network for maintenance and manufacturing activities. Russia Revives YAK – 242

Russian deputy  premier Dmitry Rogozin has disclosed whilst on a visit to Russia’s Irkut aviation facility, that the MC-21 will be redesignated as the YAK-242 when the twin jet goes into serial production. He also confirmed that Russian aero engine faciities in Perm will produce the Aviadvigatel PD-14 engine for the aircraft. The first MC-21 prototype will be unveiled in the summer of 2015.
